abearcubinwinter asked: re: teaching 8th graders...open with a joke. introduce yourself as the biebs' dance double, then do your "white businessman dance." it will at least ease the tension of having this new person in the room. that age is weird because it's the transition from being an awkward kid to trying to be one of the cool kids moving on to high school. it's hit or miss. in instances where inappropriate things happen, i think it's also okay to call them out on it. you can't really go wring with educating them.
